Advancing Commmunity Engaged Learning Fund
The Centre for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) works to connect communities with UBC faculty and students to work on issues that impact society. The Centre’s Advancing Community Engaged Learning Fund awards grants of up to $10,000 to faculty, academic administrators or staff. The grants are intended for the development, innovation, evaluation, and improvement of approaches, resources and systems that enable community engaged learning to grow and sustain as a practise at UBC.
Strong requests will focus on opportunities that enable at least one of the following:
- The project proposed improves upon, or seeks to create resources, systems, and/or structural supports that hold potential for the on-going sustainment of community engaged learning practice and initiatives.
- The project offers the potential to develop new understandings of the efficacy of community engaged learning practice and provides examples of its impact.
- The project includes a strong demonstrable output that other CEL practitioners can learn from and adapt for their practice.
- The project takes an equity lens by proactively seeking the perspectives of historically marginalized populations throughout its development, implementation, and evaluation of outputs and/or outcomes.
Note: Applications will be assessed throughout the year until the fund is exhausted. Funded projects must begin activity within 6 months of receipt of the grant.
Eligibility: At this time, funding is only available to faculty, academic administrators or staff at UBC Vancouver
