About

The Social Impact Lab (SIL) Toolkit is a modular tool for educators to help students achieve collaborative and systemic change. The SIL Toolkit consists of themes, learning outcomes, and lessons, which guide students through values exploration, working in diverse groups, systems analysis, and project planning.

Themes are broad categories of student learning.
Learning outcomes are more specific goals for student learning.
Lessons are the means to achieve those goals.

How to Use the SIL Toolkit

2. Browse and choose themes that achieve those learning outcomes.
3. String it all together

String those themes, learning outcomes, and lessons together to form a lesson plan or workshop

We hope this resource supports and inspires educators in their efforts to engage with communities. The SIL Toolkit is an iterative, co-developed curriculum, and that the project is still evolving.

We would like to thank the Learning Technology team at the UBC Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Technology (CTLT) for their generous support in this project.
